Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top restaurants, has been studying Italian cuisine and its traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking at an early age. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. The Culinary Institute of America was a great place to study. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. In Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food and culture. It will have a significant impact on the way she cooks. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids facing problems. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador who promotes awareness of children with diabetes. Burrell is often a guest to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States to mentor others in her task. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career she is incredibly fortunate to be able share with others what is essential for her.
